These Children’s Hospitals Ranked Among the Best in Illinois — But They Didn’t Make the National Top 10 Nationally – NBC Chicago

On a new ranking of the best children’s hospitals in Illinois, three have been selected. But none of the state made the list of the top 10 children’s hospitals in the nation.

According to US News and World Report, Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago took the top spot for Best Children’s Hospital in Illinois, followed by University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, then Advocate Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn.

Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago also landed on News and World Report’s Top 10 Hospitals in the Midwestern United States list at #7.

The Chicago Tribune reports that the last time an Illinois hospital made the national list was in 2018, when Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital placed 10th.

According to the report, “The 2022-2023 ranking of the best children’s hospitals was created using data collected through a clinical survey sent to nearly 200 hospitals and a survey sent to thousands of pediatricians nationwide.”

Hospital rankings depended on the hospital’s performance in three main areas: clinical outcomes, effective coordination of care, and provision of care-related resources.
