Once famous for playing Will McKenzie in The Inbetweeners, Simon Bird is now unrecognizable as he films a new Channel 4 comedy.

The actor, who also played Adam Goodman on Friday Night Dinner, bears little resemblance to the clumsy schoolboy character he portrayed in three series and two movies.

As reported by the Sun, Simon no longer wears his trademark specs. Instead, he was pictured with a bowl-cut wig and a beard.

The 37-year-old also wore an ill-fitting and unflattering gray suit while filming his new role, which saw him walk into a stalled engine.

Simon will star in an upcoming Channel 4 comedy series called Everyone Else Burns.

The six-part series, which airs later this year, will explore life in a hyper-religious community and ask the question: how does an idiosyncratic family navigating modern life protect themselves from the eternal hellfire? ?

Other cast members alongside Simon include Kate O’Flynn, Amy James-Kelly, Kadiff Kirwan and Harry Connor.

However, Simon will always be remembered for his role in The Inbetweeners.

The show ran for three series from 2008 to 2010 and launched the careers of Simon and fellow actors Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison.

The latter, who played Neil Sutherland, also looks very different.

In March, the star admitted he didn’t see a revival of the hit E4 show “ever happening” during an appearance on Lorraine.

The series spawned two spin-off films, released in 2011 and 2014, both of which proved to be box office hits.

A special reunion was held in 2019 called Fwends Reunited.

However, the one-off special was poorly received and even prompted an apology from James Buckley, who played Jay Cartwright.
