Quebec Justice Minister Simon Jolin-Barrette announced on Saturday that the provincial government would provide $665,000 to the Center for Sexual Assault Victims of Montreal to establish a chat service for victims of sexual violence.

In a statement, the Minister said: “The funding will enable the development and implementation of a new chat service accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The objective will be to offer support , information and referral to victims and their relatives thanks to a new technological solution. It will be a quick and confidential way for victims to talk to stakeholders to get the assistance they need.
