Stranger Things season 4 official trailer from Netflix

Stranger Things star Sadie Sink has announced fans will be more terrified than ever when the show returns for its fourth season later this month.

The 20-year-old actress plays Maxine “Max” Mayfield in Netflix’s supernatural drama – which airs its penultimate season on May 27.

After the first season aired in 2016, the show has built up a huge and dedicated fanbase – and Sadie says those fans should expect big scares for the new episodes to come.

The show will see a new villain take center stage, who the actress says is the scariest demon yet – after demon dogs and giant monsters tore up scenes in the first three seasons.

Speaking to People, Sadie teased: “This is the weirdest season we’ve ever had. Only the magnitude of it is out of this world.

As for the spooky new villain, the actress called him “really scary.”

And she also promised that fans will get to know her character better – with trailers for upcoming new episodes showing Max grieving for his brother, Billy, played by Dacre Montgomery, and levitating.

Sadie said, “We’re exploring a lot of different themes and different sides of the characters that everyone knows and loves, so I’m looking forward to it.”

And she also reported that the cast isn’t looking forward to the show ending after season five.

She said, “I would go on forever if they wanted to. We’ve built a family at this point and it’s a really special, unique bond. I’m going to miss everyone.”

While fans might also be sad about the upcoming end of the series, the creators of the series have already announced that they plan to create a spin-off series.

Speaking to SFX magazine last month, co-creators Ross and Matt Duffer talked about the possibilities of the future.

Matt said: “We’re going to feel like we still have a lot of gas left in the tank.

“But I think it’s better to end us wanting more. That’s why finishing at five felt like the right decision for us. We haven’t told anyone about our plans! Not even Netflix! We have ideas.”

Matt said he wouldn’t rule out the potential for a spinoff if the story felt right.

The fourth season will air on May 27, 2022.

“As to whether we should do some sort of Stranger Things spin-off or sequel, for us the bar was always, ‘Is the idea exciting enough that we feel the urge to do it? remake? ” he added.

Seasons 1-3 of Stranger Things are available to stream via Netflix now – with Season 4 dropping May 27, 2022.
