St. Lawrence Market hours will be expanded to weekdays and will be open on Sundays for a one-year pilot starting July 31.

As part of the deal, the market will open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday and will remain closed on Monday.

The City of Toronto said in a statement that “the pilot project is the result of a recent review of market hours that included public feedback and an assessment of how operational improvements can help the market better serve Toronto residents and visitors to the city.”

In March 2020, St. Lawrence Market was in the process of launching this pilot project but the COVID-19 pandemic put it on hold as hours of operation were reduced due to COVID-19 health measures .

“It’s very exciting that St. Lawrence Market is re-launching extended hours,” Toronto Mayor John Tory said in the statement.

“I want to thank the many businesses that make the market such a special place,” he said. “In 2020 we pivoted as COVID-19 impacted previous launch plans, now we are moving forward with this exciting pilot.”
