Search continues, death toll rises after Havana Hotel explosion

The number of confirmed deaths in a suspected gas explosion at a hotel in Havana, Cuba, rose to 26 on Saturday, May 7, as authorities continued clearing the rubble less than a day after the blast , local media reported. According to Cubadebate, Havana city officials said Saturday that four children and a pregnant woman were among the dead, and of 45 injured people taken to hospital, nine were in critical condition.
