Attention lake lovers: one of America’s most scenic lakes is in New England, according to Travel + Leisure.

The travel publication recently published a list of the 12 most beautiful lakes in the United States and included Echo Lake in New Hampshire.

“With thousands of lakes scattered across the country, chances are you’ll be no further than a full tank of gas from a large lake,” Travel + Leisure wrote. “But not all are created equal: some lakes have won Mother Nature’s lottery for natural beauty, so we’ve rounded up some of the best lakes in the United States”

Here’s what the publication wrote about Echo Lake:

“In a southeast corner of the White Mountain National Forest, Echo Lake rests in the shadow of White Horse Ledge, whose reflection covers almost all 16 acres of water. White Horse and the nearby 700-foot cliffs of Cathedral Ledge are popular climbing destinations; both reward hikers with magnificent views of Echo Lake below and the distant mountains. Fall is especially beautiful when these slopes burst into brilliant reds, yellows and oranges; look up close. one of many hiking trails.”
