Mounties in Surrey investigate vehicle shooting in Newton

Police believe someone inside a light-coloured SUV shot at someone driving another vehicle.

Mounties in Surrey are investigating a shooting at a vehicle in the Newton area Friday night.

RCMP say shortly before 8:30 pm, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 13400-block of 60A Avenue.

Investigators then found a vehicle believed to be the target of the shooting in the 13500-block of 62B Avenue, with no driver inside.

Police believe the targeted vehicle was being driven while being shot at by a second vehicle, a light colored SUV which fled the area.

No injuries have been reported, however police are looking to confirm the well-being of the driver, and any occupants who may have been in the vehicle.
