Makeover: a big move requires a new adapted look

Keira Roets is a 32-year-old People Operations Manager and is moving to the East Coast for a career opportunity. A fresh, sunny hair color seemed appropriate for this new season in her life and a welcome change.

Keira has thick hair and long hair that had already been colored. The color was dull and her ends were a bit dry. She wanted a low-maintenance color and cut that was subtle and natural. I chose to apply a technique called balayage; a hand paint highlighting technique, combined with foil highlights. I used bleach to create subtle honey-colored ribbons in her hair, then refined her highlights using an ammonia-free demi-permanent beige-blonde tint, which conditions and adds shine and shine .

I washed her hair with Oribe – Signature Shampoo and Conditioner and layered the mid-lengths and ends with Oribe – Foundation Mist, a lightweight base to condition and nourish the hair. I cut the length of her hair and incorporated long layers for softness, bounce and movement.

Before styling, I applied Oribe – Crème for Style to her mid-lengths and ends for flexible, long-lasting hold and anti-frizz support. I blow-dried her hair with a round brush and touched up the style with a curling wand. To finish the style, I used Oribe – Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray to create a tousled beach bomb style.

Reconcile:

Keira has stunning green eyes and beautiful skin. I used a wet beauty blender to naturally even out her skin tone and added bronzer to create a sun-kissed glow. On her eyes, I used a few matte cream eyeshadows in brown and beige tones, to create a natural smoky look. I filled in her brows to frame her eyes and used a cream blush to enhance the dewy color of her face. On her lips, we went for a sheer gloss finish to pull the look together.
