How to have a wild thyme without regret | Canberra time

I’m under no illusions I can handle a thyme lawn, but thyme sprawling across our garden path is possible. Wild thyme is highly variable and there are many wild and garden cultivars and hybrids, all differing in leaf size, color and growth habits. You will find “wild thyme” under many names: creeping thyme, wild thyme, T. serpentine, T. praecox and a wealth of many others. Some are real wild thymes. Others have been tamed, so they are more fragrant or bloom more brightly. The most important criterion is that it grows flat, without an erect stem.
